LGBTQ+ Allyship—What is It?
What is allyship and why is it important? How can you be an ally in your day-to-day life?

In celebration of Pride Month, the SKMC Alumni Association's Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Alliance (I.D.E.A.) invites Jefferson, Textile, and Philadelphia University alumni, post-graduate alumni, and current students to join Bernard L. Lopez, MD ’86, Residency ’89, MS ’03, CPE, for an exclusive talk exploring some of the ways you can become an ally—or strengthen your allyship—to members of diverse communities.

Dr. Lopez, senior associate dean for Diversity & Community Engagement in the Sidney Kimmel Medical College and associate provost, Diversity & Inclusion, at Thomas Jefferson University, will share the history and impact of the LGBTQ+ community’s journey toward equity and inclusion and discuss what it means to be an ally, including ways in which you can demonstrate your allyship in professional settings and clinical practices.

A Q&A will follow the talk.
